Aroland Economic Development supports the economic growth and sustainability of Aroland First Nation through community-focused initiatives, partnerships, and development opportunities. As the organization continues to establish its governance and operational structure, this role will play a key part in supporting foundational administrative and financial processes.ResponsibilitiesProvide day-to-day administrative support to the Board and leadershipManage incoming calls, emails, and correspondenceCoordinate meetings, prepare agendas, and record minutesMaintain digital and physical filing systems and recordsPrepare and maintain documentation, including contracts and agreementsSchedule appointments and support calendar managementCoordinate travel arrangements, including bookings and itinerariesSupport general record-keeping and administrative processesOrder office supplies and assist with office organizationAct as a point of contact for community members, partners, and stakeholdersAssist with accounts payable and receivable, including tracking invoices and paymentsMaintain receipts and process expense documentation, including travel expensesPerform data entry and maintain accurate financial recordsSupport bank reconciliations and expense trackingAssist with payroll preparation as requiredPrepare basic financial reports and summariesSupport budgeting processes and audit preparationSkills & Qualification2+ years of administrative experienceExperience in construction, economic development,



or project-based environments is strongly preferredBasic bookkeeping or accounting experience requiredProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); accounting software experience is an assetStrong organizational and record-keeping skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a developing environmentStrong communication and interpersonal skillsSelf-starter with the ability to build processes and systems from the ground upDetail-oriented with strong accuracy in administrative and financial tasksReliable and able to work independentlyStrong coordination skills, including scheduling and travel arrangementsCommunity-focused and collaborative approachAdaptable and comfortable in a growing organizationHigh level of confidentiality and professionalismAbility to attend in-person meetings in Aroland First Nation as neededBenefitsOpportunity to help build and shape administrative and financial processesLocation: Flexible within the Thunder Bay region, with the ability to travel to Aroland First Nation as required.Direct impact on community development initiativesCollaborative setting working closely with leadership and the BoardMeaningful work supporting long-term community growth and sustainabilityWe are committed to creating an inclusive, accessible workplace in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
