Event Manager – The Dream Room

Overview The Dream Room is looking for a creative, organized and outgoing Event Manager to take the lead on our in-house monthly events. From children’s themed events and family activities to adult socials, workshops and seasonal celebrations, this role is all about creating fun, memorable reasons for our community to come together at The Dream Room.

The Event Manager will oversee events from concept to completion, including planning, promotion, preparation and on-site coordination.

Responsibilities

- Develop and plan monthly children’s, family and adult events
- Create new event concepts based on seasons, holidays and community interests
- Coordinate event dates, schedules, activities and entertainment
- Determine event requirements, supplies, décor and staffing
- Assist with budgeting, pricing and ticketing
- Coordinate performers, vendors and other event partners when required
- Work with our social media team to promote upcoming events
- Prepare and decorate The Dream Room for events
- Manage event staff and delegate responsibilities
- Oversee events from setup through completion
- Welcome guests and ensure events stay organized and on schedule
- Troubleshoot issues and make adjustments as needed




- Coordinate cleanup, reset and teardown following events
- Help develop recurring events that build The Dream Room’s community presence

Requirements & Skills

- Creative, organized and able to take initiative
- Strong event planning and time-management skills
- Confident leading a team and delegating responsibilities
- Friendly, outgoing and comfortable interacting with both adults and children
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Able to manage multiple details and deadlines independently
- Available for evenings and weekends depending on the event schedule
- Event planning, hospitality, entertainment or management experience is an asset
- Social media and promotional experience is an asset

This role is ideal for someone who loves turning an idea into an experience and wants the creative freedom to help build The Dream Room’s calendar of signature events.

Pay: $18.00 per hour
