We are seeking a dedicated Farm Laborer to join our agricultural team. This role involves working outdoors in various farming activities, supporting crop production and maintenance, loading and unloading farm product, grading product, producing basic reports and work in a physically demanding setting . The ideal candidate will be physically capable, reliable, and eager to contribute to the successful operation of our farm. 6-12 months of prior agricultural experience is preferred.
This position offers an opportunity to develop practical skills in farming.
Responsibilities
- Assist with harvesting and prepare crops for market using appropriate tools and techniques
- Maintain farm equipment and tools, including basic mechanical repairs when necessary
- Support plant care through hoeing and weeding as needed
- Transparent fields of wood, stones and other debris
- Perform heavy lifting of supplies (up to 100lbs), equipment, or harvested produce safely and efficiently
- Grade product and monitor quality
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas to promote safety and efficiency which includes written reports
- Pack, load and unload products
- Work environment would including working at heights, in confined spaces, in both hot and cold temperatures and in indoor and outdoor settings. Work can be considerably dusty and noisy at times.
Experience
- 6-12 month experience in some kind of farming is preferred. On-the-job training will be provided
- Mechanical knowledge or familiarity with hand tools is beneficial for equipment maintenance tasks
- Ability to perform basic math calculations related to measurements and quantities
- Physical strength for heavy lifting( up to 100lbs) and prolonged outdoor work in various weather conditions is essential
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn are highly valued traits
Pay: $18.44-$20.44 per hour
