Thermal Heads (TH), the heart of our Computer-to-Plate (CtP) products, are complex imaging devices that utilize state-of-the-art optics, electronics, and mechanical design. Our Thermal Heads enable Kodak’s SquareSpotTM imaging technology, which is unique and widely recognized as the best in the industry.
We are looking for a technologist to join our team!

Expected Contributions

Assist members of the TH team with TH testing

Conduct maintenance and repairs on jigs in coordination with TH team

Assist with development and testing of next generation TH

Assist with validation of improvement to current THs

Assist with trouble shooting QC issues as they arise

Specific Tasks

Perform testing based on provided test procedures.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues with setups, equipment, and heads.

Accurately record test configurations, conditions, and observations.

Document and report test results in a clear and traceable manner.

CtP level head testing, including installing and removing heads from CtP devices.

Generate, review, and analyze test plots and data trends with members of the TH team.

Maintain test equipment, tools, and lab setups.

Assist with experimental optical assemblies and other modification to thermal heads

Minimum Requirements

Diploma or undergraduate degree in a technical discipline

Electro-mechanical and opto-mechanical experience necessary

Excellent problem-solving abilities

Physically fit and able to lift and manipulate an 18 kg thermal head

Able to manipulate small delicate parts for optical assembly

Basic optical design understanding, required

Experience with Office applications, required

Experience with MatLab, Solidworks or Zemax desired

Experience working in the general printing industry is desired

Strives for excellence in all activities and desires to exceed expectations

Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication

Keeps clear and concise records of work performed

Follows SOPs and training received from TH team members

Self-Driven, Autonomous, and Hard Working
