With offices in Toronto and Hamilton, BULLWEALTH is an integrated wealth advisory and consulting firm with a global perspective. Our Research & Investment team is currently looking for an Investment Analyst to join us on a full-time permanent basis. This is a hybrid role working primarily out of our Toronto office.
WHAT WE OFFER
- A dynamic workplace that supports continuous learning and growth opportunities.
- The opportunity to join and learn from a supportive, high-performing team, aligned by corporate values.
- A competitive compensation package that includes generous time-off benefits, health insurance, and career development / tuition support.
- Flexibility to support work-life balance.
MAKE AN IMPACT The Investment Analyst supports the Portfolio Managers in delivering accurate, timely, and high-quality client service and reporting. To accomplish this, the Investment Analyst is responsible for maintaining data integrity by ensuring that internal systems and reports are reconciled, current, and reflective of accurate valuations and transactions.
Through detailed data analysis, the Investment Analyst prepares a quarterly investment performance report package for each client which explains how their portfolio performed relative to market conditions and macroeconomic factors. This reporting allows clients to assess how their portfolio reacted to the market environment and evaluate whether their current asset mix remains aligned with their financial goals and risk tolerance.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:
- Perform daily account reconciliations between custodial bank records and internal systems.
- Maintain and regularly update the firm’s Management Information System (MIS) for client accounts, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
- Respond to internal requests from Portfolio Managers and other team members in a timely and efficient manner.
- Prepare monthly account reconciliation reports.
- Prepare comprehensive quarterly investment reporting packages for clients.
- Verify and ensure the accuracy of Net Asset Values (NAVs) for each security, liaising with Investment Managers as necessary.
- Provide insightful analysis and commentary on select Investment Manager performance.
- Use Harmony, Excel, and Python scripts to generate reports; troubleshoot script errors and update scripts as needed based on Investment Manager changes.
- Evaluate Investment Manager (IM) performance against macroeconomic and market conditions each quarter to assess alignment with investment philosophies.
- Schedule, attend, and actively participate in quarterly due diligence meetings with Investment Managers,
ensuring relevant documentation and presentations are prepared in advance.
- Draft investment commentaries for inclusion in client reports, utilizing generative AI tools to support content development, subject to review by senior team members.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or Accounting.
- CFA designation or enrollment at a minimum.
- Strong understanding of financial markets, macroeconomics, and investment terminology.
- Prior experience in a client-facing role requiring data management, attention to detail, report generation, and collaborative teamwork.
- Experience working with wealth advisory firms, banks, or financial institutions with exposure to investment teams, portfolio analysis, or investment research is desirable.
- Strong proficiency in managing and analyzing large financial data sets.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data manipulation).
- Working knowledge of Python for data processing and process automation (or willingness to develop this skill).
- Tech-savvy, with the ability to contribute to process improvements, script maintenance, and AI integration initiatives.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Resourceful in sourcing accurate, credible market and economic information.
- High attention to detail and commitment to data integrity.
- Effective team player with solid interpersonal and communication skills.
- Highly organized, with strong prioritization and time management skills.
