Junior Estimator / Project Manager

Full-Time | Powerline & Utility Construction

Devries Power is looking for a motivated Junior Estimator / Project Manager to join our growing team.

This is a great opportunity for someone with experience or an interest in construction, estimating, project coordination, or the utility industry who wants to build a long-term career in powerline and civil utility construction.

You’ll work alongside experienced estimators, project managers, supervisors, and field crews, gaining hands-on experience with projects from the bidding and estimating stage through construction and project closeout.

What You’ll Do

As a Junior Estimator / Project Manager, you’ll support both the estimating and project management sides of our business. Responsibilities will include:

- Assist with preparing estimates, quantity take-offs, pricing, and tender submissions
- Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and scopes of work
- Request, organize, and review supplier and subcontractor pricing
- Assist with preparing project budgets and tracking project costs
- Support project scheduling, planning, procurement, and coordination
- Prepare purchase orders, change orders, RFIs, and other project documentation
- Communicate with field crews, supervisors, customers, suppliers, and subcontractors
- Assist with progress billing, invoicing, and project closeout
- Attend site visits and project meetings as required
- Identify potential issues, follow up on outstanding items, and help keep projects moving forward

What We’re Looking For We’re looking for someone who is organized, dependable, motivated, and eager to learn.

The ideal candidate will have:

- Experience in construction, utilities, electrical, civil construction, estimating, or project coordination is an asset
- College diploma or university degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is an asset, but not required
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail




- Comfort working with numbers, spreadsheets, drawings, specifications, and construction documents
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced construction environment
- A self-motivated approach and willingness to take ownership of assigned tasks
- Ability to work independently while also contributing as part of a team
- Valid driver's licence
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, estimating software, or project management software is an asset

Powerline or utility construction experience is an asset, but we're willing to train the right person.

About the Role We’re not necessarily looking for someone who already knows everything about estimating or project management.

We’re looking for someone who is organized, driven, dependable, willing to learn, and takes ownership of their work.

You’ll work directly with experienced estimators, project managers, and field personnel to learn how utility construction projects are estimated, planned, coordinated, and completed.

As your experience grows, so will your responsibility — with the goal of developing into someone who can independently estimate and manage projects.
