Location: Western Canada | Hybrid / flexible

Compensation: C$100,000–C$190,000 base salary, depending on experience in capital markets and your ability to execute and pivot, from detailed plans as necessary. Help build the next generation of farmer-controlled economic power

Global Farmer Alliance (GFA), founded by FNA, is seeking a Chief Operating Officer to grow the alliance of and with farmers, globally.

FNA has spent more than two decades helping farmers strengthen their purchasing power and profitability. GFA is building on that foundation with many new impactful farmer and non farmer member programs, additional strategic supplier relationships, ( in the 11 major inputs and scores of intermediate preferred suppliers) and farmer-controlled distribution of their production data. (through the GFA Farmed Right*regen ag brand). We will be managing latent investment opportunities for farmers to participate with capital markets in the value GFA creates in the agricultural supply chain.

We need an operator who manage current programs and can build from opportunity to execution.

The role

Working closely with the founder, the COO will lead GFA’s day-to-day operations and corporate development and continue to build the team, partnerships and systems needed to grow globally.

You will:

* Build membership, purchasing and supplier programs that deliver measurable value to farmers.

* Negotiate and manage relationships with manufacturers, distributors and other strategic partners.





* Develop farmer co-investment opportunities with strategic businesses upstream and downstream in the agricultural supply chain.

* Bring capital markets experience to the evaluation, structuring and financing of those opportunities, working when necessary with appropriate professionals.

* Turn commercial ideas into practical programs with clear economics, accountability and performance measures.

* Lead the integration of membership, CRM, communications, payment and e-commerce systems.

* Recruit and lead a capable, entrepreneurial operating team.

Who you are

You have senior operating or entrepreneurial experience and a record of building businesses, programs or partnerships. Experience in agriculture, agricultural inputs and product marketing with insight into the major market players,

You also bring capital markets experience and can assess investment opportunities, work with financing partners and help structure ventures that align farmer participation with commercial returns.

You understand oligopoly market dynamics and strategic and tactical win win negotiation and alternative strategies to change markets. A personality that builds trust with farmers and business partners. Manage accelerating technology to help a lean organization operate effectively. Above all, you can take ownership of execution in a founder-led organization.
