Job Summary

Install, replace and maintain thermal and acoustic insulation systems in buildings and industrial facilities. Perform measuring, cutting, fitting and finishing of insulation materials while following applicable safety procedures. Number of Positions

2 Main Duties

Measure, cut, shape and install insulation materials (batt, blanket, rigid board, spray foam, blown-in) on pipes, ducts, equipment, walls, ceilings and floors. Apply vapor barriers, jackets, sealants and firestopping materials to ensure thermal and moisture protection and compliance with specifications. Remove deteriorated or damaged insulation and prepare surfaces for replacement, including cleaning and disposal of waste according to site procedures.

Read and interpret blueprints, specifications and work orders to calculate material quantities and plan installation layouts. Operate hand and power tools, ladders, scaffolding and lifting equipment while maintaining proper tool care and workplace housekeeping. Coordinate with other trades, supervisors and inspection personnel to meet project timelines, quality standards and safety requirements.

Requirements

Secondary school diploma or equivalent; completion of an insulation apprenticeship or relevant vocational training is an asset.



Previous experience installing thermal and acoustic insulation in commercial, residential or industrial settings. Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and material data sheets and perform accurate measurements. Physical ability to lift materials, work at heights and in confined spaces, and perform manual tasks for extended periods. Familiarity with workplace health and safety practices, proper use of personal protective equipment and safe handling of insulation materials. Reliable attendance and the ability to travel to various job sites as required by project locations.
