We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Centre Attendant to join our team at a shopping centre in Nanaimo. This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and overall presentation of the shopping centre. The site includes a small indoor area with washrooms and retail spaces, as well as a large exterior area including walkways, entrances, common areas, and surrounding grounds.

The ideal candidate is someone who takes pride in their work,



pays attention to detail, can work independently, and is comfortable working both indoors and outdoors.

Main Duties & Responsibilities Daily cleaning and maintenance of indoor and outdoor common areas Mopping, sweeping, dusting, wiping, and vacuuming* Cleaning and maintaining public and staff washrooms* Operating floor scrubbers and other cleaning equipment* Using blowers to clear leaves, dirt, debris, and other materials from exterior areas* Emptying and handling garbage and recycling bins* Cleaning entrances, walkways, sidewalks, and common areas* Pressure washing as required* Removing graffiti and reporting any major damage or vandalism* Cleaning windows, doors, glass, counters, and other touch points as required* Spot cleaning walls and other surfaces* Handling and using cleaning chemicals safely and according to instructions* Keeping cleaning equipment and supplies organized and in good condition* Monitoring the property and reporting maintenance, safety, or cleanliness concerns* Responding to spills, garbage, or other cleaning needs throughout the day* Completing regular cleaning duties and maintaining the site to a high standard* Other general cleaning and centre maintenance duties as required

What We Are Looking For: Previous janitorial, commercial cleaning, building maintenance, or similar experience is an asset Comfortable working outdoors in different weather conditions* Able to operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, vacuums,



and blowers* Comfortable handling cleaning chemicals and following safety procedures* Physically able to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform cleaning duties throughout the shift* Reliable, punctual, and responsible* Good attention to detail* Able to work independently with minimal supervision* Professional and respectful when dealing with tenants, customers, and the public* Good communication skills* Able to identify and report safety, maintenance, or security concerns
