Phlebotomist - Laboratory JOB SUMMARY The Laboratory Phlebotomist is responsible for performing patient phlebotomies, general laboratory maintenance of the out-patient area, point of care (POC) testing and pertinent record keeping.

Qualifications

- Education: Graduation from high school is preferred with emphasis on science courses.
- Training and Experience: On-the-job training: one year experience that includes completion of current ASCP, NAACLS phlebotomy requirements, American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians, or National Phlebotomy Association.
- Upon Completion of Training: Willing and able to sit for Registry (ASCP or NPT) within 18 months of hire in order to comply with IDPH and JCAHO standards.
- Job Knowledge:



In addition to phlebotomy techniques, the Laboratory Phlebotomist must be capable of preparing accurate reports and correct filing. He or she should have some knowledge of POC equipment.

Shift : Day

Hourly Wage: $15.50 - $21.33 per/hour (Actual wage depends on experience.)
