Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated full time Registered Early Childhood Educator to join our vibrant team. In this role, you will be instrumental in creating a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment for young children. Your energy and leadership will inspire curiosity, support developmental milestones, and foster a love of learning.

As a key member of our early childhood education team, you will collaborate with families and colleagues to deliver high-quality care and education that promotes growth, creativity, and social-emotional well-being.

Duties

- Plan and implement engaging daily activities that support early childhood
- Responsible for the constant supervision, safety and well being of the children development across cognitive, social, emotional, and physical domains.
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages exploration, independence, and respectful interactions among children.
- Communicate effectively with children, families, and team members to ensure a cohesive approach to care and education. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and written.
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress, attendance, and developmental milestones using computer systems.
- Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and collaborating with specialists as needed.
- Uses a variety of teaching techniques including role modeling, observing, questioning
- Ensure health and safety standards are consistently met by supervising children during indoor and outdoor activities.
- Lead classroom management with strong organizational skills to maintain a structured yet adaptable learning environment.




- Ensure the classroom operates in compliance with childcare licensing standards
- Demonstrates skills working as a team player

Experience

- Early Childhood Educator Diploma or Degree (RECE)
- Registered with the College of ECE and in good standing
- Proven experience working with children in early childhood settings, including classroom experience.
- Experience supporting children with diverse needs, including those requiring special education or accommodations for disabilities.
- Knowledge of Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), Durham Region Operating Criteria (DROC)
- Demonstrated communication skills for engaging with children, families, and team members clearly and compassionately.
- Strong organizational skills coupled with time management abilities to prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Proficiency in computer operation for documentation, lesson planning, and communication purposes.
- Experience working in inclusive environments that promote child-centered learning approaches.
- An understanding of How Does Learning Happen? and ELECT
- Valid Certificate for CPR and Standard First Aid
- Up to date immunizations including 2 step TB (Tuberculosis) test.
- Current Criminal background check including vulnerable sector
