The Opportunity

TS Manufacturing is looking for a Senior Optimization Software Developer to design, develop and support industrial software used in modern sawmill operations.

This is a hands-on senior technical role with responsibility for complex software development, optimization algorithms, system architecture and troubleshooting. You’ll also provide technical guidance to other developers and collaborate with our East Coast and West Coast teams.

What You'll Do

- Design and develop C#/.NET applications, optimization engines and Blazor interfaces
- Develop mathematical and computational solutions for sawmill optimization
- Build reliable services and data workflows using APIs, gRPC, Protobuf and asynchronous programming
- Translate sawmill processes and production requirements into effective software solutions
- Troubleshoot complex issues involving software, databases, networks, PLCs, scanners and site configurations
- Support complex installations, commissioning and technical escalations
- Mentor developers through design reviews, code reviews and technical collaboration
- Improve software performance, automated testing, diagnostics and deployment reliability
- Collaborate with development teams across Canada and the U.S. on architecture and technical standards

What We're Looking For

- Minimum 7 years experience in software development
- Strong professional experience with C# and modern .NET
- Experience designing, developing and supporting complex production software
- Strong knowledge of distributed systems, asynchronous programming, APIs and relational databases
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Solid mathematical, geometric and spatial reasoning
- Ability to explain technical concepts and guide others without formal management responsibility
- Comfortable working in industrial environments and travelling to customer sites when required

Experience That Will Set You Apart

Experience with

- ASP.NET Core,



Blazor, gRPC, Protobuf or Entity Framework Core
- PostgreSQL, SQL Server or SQLite
- Industrial automation, PLCs or ControlLogix
- Laser scanners, encoders or industrial networks
- Computational geometry, numerical methods, point clouds or machine vision
- Automated testing, Git and production diagnostics

Work Location & Travel The position is associated with our Lindsay, Ontario office. Lindsay and surrounding-area candidates are preferred, but remote work is available for proven self-starters. Periodic office time in Lindsay is preferred.

Travel is primarily for complex installations, commissioning and technical escalations and is generally limited. Advance notice is normally provided, although urgent customer situations may occasionally require shorter notice. All required travel expenses are covered.
