Sessional Instructor – Forms of Racism in Canadian Society

(CRIM 351)

Responsibilities: NSITEP La Ronge requires a sessional instructor for CRIM 351- Forms of Racism in Canadian Society. This course examines the socio-historic system of racism with a focus on the Canadian Aboriginal experience. Manifestations of the different forms of racism are explored. Participants engage in a variety of activities to analyze racism and evaluate their beliefs and actions in order to promote equity and anti-racism practice.

The assignment would involve planning, preparation and delivery of appropriate course content to students. Manage classroom activities to ensure an optimum learning workplace for students. Evaluate student performance and provide consistent feedback.



Awareness and implementation of culturally responsive approaches.

Qualifications: Candidates will have a Master of Education degree or graduate degree in the appropriate area of instruction and experience within the education system appropriate to the content of the course. An understanding of Gabriel Dumont Institute values and previous teaching experience at the post-secondary level is an asset. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, flexibility and the ability to work with Indigenous student populations is required.

Candidates must be approved by the University of Regina.

Remuneration: U of R Sessional Lecturer wage grid

Location: La Ronge, SK (in person)

Term: January 4, 2027 to April 23, 2027 (39 contact hours)
