Site Superintendent – Science & Technology Construction

Job Type: Full-time A well-established General Contractor specializing in science, technology, laboratory, and specialized commercial construction is seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-to-senior level Site Superintendent with a strong background managing complex construction projects from mobilization through completion. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day site operations, coordinating trades and subcontractors, maintaining project schedules, and ensuring work is completed safely and to a high standard.

The ideal candidate will have experience working on science, technology, laboratory, or other technically complex commercial projects. Experience with projects in the $3M–$5M range is preferred.

Responsibilities

- Oversee all day-to-day site operations from mobilization through project completion
- Coordinate subcontractors, trades, materials, deliveries, and site activities
- Develop and maintain project schedules in collaboration with the Project Manager
- Monitor project progress and proactively address scheduling, quality, and site issues
- Ensure work is completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, building codes, and project requirements
- Maintain high standards for site safety, quality control, and site organization
- Conduct regular site meetings and coordinate with subcontractors, consultants, and project stakeholders




- Review construction activities and ensure work is progressing according to schedule
- Identify potential issues and implement practical solutions to keep projects moving
- Work closely with the Project Manager, consultants, trades, and clients throughout the construction process
- Maintain accurate site documentation, reports, and records

Qualifications
- 10 years of construction experience, including significant experience as a Site Superintendent
- Proven experience managing commercial, institutional, science, technology, laboratory, or technically complex construction projects
- Experience managing projects in the $3M–$5M range
- Strong understanding of construction scheduling, sequencing, and site coordination
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical drawings
- Strong knowledge of construction practices, safety requirements, and quality control
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Proven ability to coordinate multiple trades and subcontractors
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Valid driver's licence and ability to travel to project sites as required
