Job Overview We are seeking a reliable, compassionate, and patient caregiver to provide part-time support to my 74-year-old mother, who is currently undergoing chemotherapy. The ideal candidate will be someone who enjoys helping others, is comfortable accompanying seniors to medical appointments, and can provide companionship and practical assistance at home. Location Lachine, Montreal, Quebec Position Type Part-time, live-out caregiver Hours Approximately 4-10 hours per week, with the possibility of additional hours depending on her needs and medical appointment schedule. Responsibilities - Accompany my mother to chemotherapy appointments at the MUHC Royal Victoria Hospital (Glen site) and occasional medical appointments. - Help her communicate with doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals during appointments. - Provide companionship and emotional support at home. - Assist with light cooking and simple household tasks as needed. - Provide general assistance and support throughout her cancer treatment. - Help with transportation to and from appointments. Requirements - English-speaking: My mother speaks some English but is not fluent. The caregiver must be comfortable communicating in English and helping her communicate with her medical team. - Farsi-speaking is a bonus, but not required. - Must be dependable, patient, compassionate, and trustworthy. - Previous caregiving or senior care experience is preferred. - Must be comfortable supporting someone undergoing cancer treatment. - Ideally, the candidate has their own vehicle and a valid driver's license. We can provide our car for transportation if needed. - Must be able to reliably travel to our home in Lachine.
