DBL Disposal Services is looking for an experienced Fabricator / Welder to join our team. This is a hands-on position working on a variety of equipment used throughout our disposal and hauling operations.
Responsibilities
- Welding, fabricating and repairing roll-off bins, waste containers and other equipment
- Repairing and reinforcing damaged bins, including floors, walls, doors, hinges and structural components
- Welding and fabrication work on trucks, trailers and equipment as required
- Cutting, fitting, grinding and preparing steel for fabrication and repairs
- Building and modifying components as needed for operational use
- Inspecting equipment and identifying areas requiring repair or reinforcement
- Completing preventative repairs before equipment failures occur
- Safely operating welding, cutting and fabrication equipment
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area
- Working alongside our mechanics, operators and management to keep equipment in service
- Following DBL safety procedures and maintaining safe work practices at all times
Qualifications
- Previous welding and fabrication experience required
- Solid MIG welding skills; additional welding experience is an asset
- Experience working with structural steel and heavy equipment is preferred
- Ability to read measurements and fabricate from existing equipment,
drawings or instructions
- Comfortable using grinders, saws, torches and other shop equipment
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Able to work independently and manage repair priorities
- Valid driver’s licence preferred
- Reliable, safety-minded and able to work as part of a team
