Schedule: Monday, Wednesday & Friday, 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Hours: Approximately 12 -15 hours per week I am looking for a reliable, caring, and energetic Home Support Caregiver / Personal Attendant to provide non-medical support in my home and help me with my morning routine and daily activities. I am a wheelchair user who lives an active and independent lifestyle. I am looking for someone who is comfortable providing hands-on assistance when needed while also supporting me to do as much as possible independently. Responsibilities Personal Care & Morning Routine Provide occasional assistance with dressing and grooming. Provide support or supervision with personal care activities as needed. Help with morning stretches and exercises. Assist with putting on and removing foot braces. Mobility & Transfers Assist with transfers, including transferring between my everyday wheelchair and sports wheelchair. Help with wheelchair and mobility equipment, including basic cleaning, charging, and setup. Provide physical assistance with activities that I cannot safely complete independently. Meal Preparation & Household Support Help prepare meals and snacks, including tasks such as chopping vegetables, opening containers, and following recipes. Assist with grocery organization and occasional shopping. Help keep my home clean, organized, and safe. Assist with laundry, dishes, light housekeeping, and other household tasks. Appointments & Daily Organization Occasionally assist with booking or organizing appointments and other day-to-day tasks. Accompany me to appointments or activities when needed. Dog/Pet Support I have a large dog, so you must be comfortable around dogs. Assist me when taking my dog outside or on walks so I can do this safely. Occasional help with basic dog-related tasks may be needed. and comfortable supporting someone with a physical disability. Comfortable providing hands-on physical assistance, including transfers. Physically able to safely assist with mobility, transfers, and household activities. Comfortable around a large dog. Able to communicate well and take direction while also working independently. Willing to complete a criminal record check. Previous caregiving or healthcare experience is an asset but is not necessarily required. Students in nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, kinesiology, healthcare, or a related field are welcome to apply. This can be a great chance to gain practical experience while learning directly from someone with lived experience of disability. Additional Assets A valid driver's licence and ability to drive. Experience supporting someone who uses a wheelchair or mobility equipment. Interest in adaptive sports and community activities. Flexibility to occasionally provide additional hours. Optional Travel Opportunities I also travel periodically and sometimes require a travel assistant. If you enjoy travelling, there may be opportunities to provide support during trips, with travel-related costs covered. Travel is completely optional and is not required for this position. I am looking for someone who can become a consistent and trusted part of my support team. The right person will understand that good support is about helping me maintain my independence, routines, and active lifestyle while stepping in with practical assistance where needed.
