Guidewire PolicyCenter & ClaimCenter, P&C; Insurance, SQL/Database Analysis Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Guidewire PolicyCenter - Domain, Business Analyst with 5+ years of experience working with Guidewire PolicyCenter and Guidewire ClaimCenter in a Business Systems Analyst capacity. The ideal candidate will have strong domain expertise in the Property and Casualty (P&C;) Insurance industry, along with experience in business analysis, application design, transactional processing, and relational databases.

The successful candidate will work closely with Business Analysts, Project Managers, Developers, Architects, and business stakeholders to translate insurance business requirements into effective application solutions. Key Responsibilities Guidewire & Insurance Domain

- Provide business analysis and functional expertise for Guidewire PolicyCenter and ClaimCenter.
- Analyze and document business requirements related to Property and Casualty insurance processes.
- Leverage strong understanding of P&C; insurance business processes and industry standards.
- Analyze complex transactional processing requirements related to premium allocation, statistical reporting, and financial reporting.
- Support business and technology teams in defining effective Guidewire-based solutions.

Business Analysis & Requirements
- Gather, analyze, document, and validate business and functional requirements.
- Translate business requirements into detailed application design specifications.
- Develop pseudo-code or functional logic where required to support development teams.
- Assist in defining system configuration scope, objectives,



and functional requirements through research and fact-finding.
- Identify business and system impacts of proposed functionality and changes.
- Assist with creating and refining functional designs and mockups for new functionality.

Database & Data Analysis
- Work with relational databases such as DB2 and SQL Server.
- Develop and execute SQL queries for data analysis, validation, and troubleshooting.
- Analyze transactional data and investigate data-related issues.
- Support data validation and reconciliation activities related to insurance applications and reporting.

Development & Project Support
- Work closely with development teams to clarify requirements and provide functional guidance.
- Support developers during application design, development, testing, and implementation.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts and Project Teams to develop and communicate technical concept alternatives.
- Participate in integration discussions and help evaluate integration decisions and technical approaches.
- Identify and communicate project issues, dependencies, risks, and implementation considerations.

SDLC & Agile Delivery
- Participate throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Work within Agile development methodologies and participate in Agile ceremonies.
- Support sprint planning, backlog refinement, requirements discussions, testing, and release activities.




- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of business requirements.

Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter and Guidewire ClaimCenter in a BSA/Business Analyst role.
- 8+ years of experience in the Property and Casualty (P&C;) Insurance industry.
- Strong understanding of insurance business processes and transactional processing.
- Strong knowledge of relational databases such as DB2 and SQL Server.
- Ability to compose and troubleshoot SQL queries.
- Understanding of premium allocation and its impact on statistical and financial reporting.
- Experience translating business requirements into application design specifications.
- Ability to understand complex business processes and translate them into functional solutions.
- Experience supporting development teams throughout the application lifecycle.
- Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies.
- Hands-on experience working in Agile methodology.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Guidewire application configuration and functional design.
- Experience with insurance system integrations and downstream reporting systems.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Ability to present technical concepts and alternatives to business and technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
