The successful candidate will provide overarching scientific leadership, national strategic vision, and rigorous governance, championing research excellence and ensuring the integrity, quality, and security of all research projects. This role is pivotal in supporting the execution of the strategic plan, chairing the Research and Innovation Council, and fostering senior stakeholder relations across the innovation ecosystem.



The ideal candidate will be a distinguished research and innovation leader with a Ph.D. or equivalent, a proven track record in academia, research, and innovation management, and a deep understanding of complex innovation ecosystems. Experience in both academic and industry settings, as well as a current academic appointment in Canada, is essential.Applicants for the CRO and SD position at the company should be prepared to make a significant impact on the future of research and innovation in Canada. The role requires a leader who can translate ambitious institutional strategies into impactful, fundable research and innovation programs, and who is adept at providing strategic oversight through governance boards and multi-stakeholder committees.
