Here's our goal

Our goal is to process and recycle as many scrap materials as possible in order to play our part in keeping our environment clean, by using less energy producing recent metals. Most of our recycled metals are sold to steel mills, which are then exported and used in the fabrication of things like new cars, and new pipe.

Here's where you come in

We are seeking a reliable, dynamic, and dedicated Class 1 Truck Driver to join our transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating heavy-duty trucks to transport freight across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism. Your expertise in commercial driving, heavy equipment operation, and automotive repair will be vital in supporting our logistics operations. Duties

- Safely operate Class 1 trucks to transport freight around Central Alberta, Calgary and Edmonton, adhering strictly to traffic laws and safety regulations
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and load security
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle logs to ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to minimize downtime and ensure vehicle reliability




- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery schedules, route changes, or issues encountered on the road
- Follow all safety protocols related to freight handling, heavy equipment operation, and driving procedures to promote a safe work environment

Experience

- Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid Class 1 license
- Demonstrated ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and load securing techniques
- Basic automotive repair skills for troubleshooting minor mechanical issues
- Strong understanding of safety regulations related to trucking and heavy equipment operation
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to follow instructions clearly and work independently or as part of a team

We think it would be awesome if you have

- Valid Class 1 Driver’s license
- Clean 5-year driver’s abstract
- Previous experience in an industrial or recycling facility (preferred, not mandatory)
- Excellent communication skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent

Physical Requirements

- This job requires frequent climbing into and out of trucks, and maneuvering on truck beds, trailers,



and scrap metal containers
- Ability to sit constantly, stand, and walk frequently on uneven ground and throughout the yard
- Lifting of up to 50 pounds

Working Conditions

- You will be at home at the end of the day every day. Our shift ends at 5 PM. Monday ~ Friday.
- This position is regularly exposed to all weather conditions.
- Move freight and materials to and from production areas, loading docks, and containers by hand or using trucks, tractors, and other equipment.
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from the loading crew, and checking that the vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.
- Secure material for transport using ropes, blocks, chains, or covers.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
