C2627-33 - Complexity Team Teacher - J.A. Williams High School & Aurora Middle School

This is a Full-Time Probationary (1.0 FTE) position commencing as soon as possible. We are seeking a dedicated teacher to lead our alternative learning program.

In this specialized role, you will work with students in a flexible, non-traditional setting to help them experience academic success. The applicant will directly address learning gaps, tailor coursework to individual needs, and provide a supportive setting that integrates self paced and individual learning opportunities as well as mental health and behavioral strategies into daily learning.

With both schools located in the Town of Lac La Biche - J.A. Williams High School has approximately 440 students in grades 9-12, and our mission is to engage the entire school community in learning through focus, reflection, and collaboration. Aurora Middle School has approximately 390 students in grades 4 to 8, and our school prides itself on being a caring, respectful, and safe school.

Reporting directly to the principal, the successful candidate will:

- Ensure effective planning,



instructions and assessment for students
- Strong subject knowledge in high school Math and Science
- Adapt lessons to meet diverse learning needs and IPP requirements
- Flexibility to teach a range of high school subjects
- Develop and nurture a positive, supportive and inclusive classroom environment
- Create the classroom conditions for students to achieve the outcomes as outlined in the Alberta Curriculum
- Interact positively and effectively with a diverse student and parent population
- Work collaboratively as a member of a professional learning community
- Nurture strong relationships with students, staff, parents and the school community

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

- Possess a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
- Previous experience teaching the assigned courses/subjects is considered an asset
- Experience or an interest in teaching Career and Technology Studies (CTS) and/or Fine Arts is considered an asset (e.g., Cosmetology, Art, Industrial Arts, Music, or holding a Food Safe Certification
- The ability to achieve Alberta Education's Teaching Quality Standards
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to lifelong learning and professional improvement
