About the Role:

The Infracon Group of Companies is seeking experienced Loader Operators for a municipal sewer and water infrastructure project in Prince Rupert, BC.

This role is best suited for a skilled operator with experience supporting underground utility construction, material handling, truck loading, backfilling, trench support, site cleanup, and general earthworks associated with municipal sewer, water, and civil infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be confident operating a loader around active excavations, utility crews, survey controls, truck traffic, other equipment, and changing site conditions.

We are looking for an operator who takes pride in quality workmanship, understands the importance of safe production, and works effectively alongside supervisors, forepersons, labourers, pipelayers, truck drivers, and other equipment operators. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a major municipal infrastructure project while working with an experienced civil construction team.

Loader Operation

- Operate wheel loaders safely and efficiently in support of municipal sewer, water, drainage, and civil construction activities
- Load trucks with aggregates, spoil, bedding material, and construction materials while maintaining safe loading practices
- Perform material handling, stockpiling, backfilling, and site cleanup activities
- Supply pipe crews and construction teams with materials as required
- Move, spread, level, and place materials including gravel, sand, bedding material, topsoil, and backfill
- Support excavation, utility installation, road reconstruction, and general earthworks operations
- Work to grade using survey stakes, plans, laser systems, GPS, or direction from supervisors and survey crews
- Operate safely around workers on foot, excavators, packers, trucks,



and other heavy equipment

Finishing & Grade Work

- Perform accurate grading, leveling, and material placement to meet project specifications
- Support preparation of pipe bedding, trench backfill, road structure, and utility corridors
- Read and understand grade stakes, site markings, drawings, and field direction
- Maintain strong attention to detail when working near existing underground utilities and infrastructure
- Identify potential issues with grade, drainage, access, or site conditions and communicate them to supervision
- Support efficient sequencing of underground construction activities to reduce rework and maintain productivity

What You Bring

- Strong loader operating experience in civil construction, municipal infrastructure, underground utilities, road construction, or earthworks
- Experience supporting sewer, watermain, storm, or drainage installation projects
- Ability to safely perform truck loading, stockpiling, material handling, and backfilling operations
- Experience working around trenching, excavations, underground utilities, and pipe crews
- Understanding of grade requirements, survey controls, and civil construction practices
- Strong awareness of safety requirements around underground infrastructure and active construction operations
- Reliable, team-oriented, and committed to producing quality work

Qualifications & Experience:

- 1–3 years of experience operating a wheel loader on civil construction or municipal infrastructure projects is required
- Experience operating loaders, skid steers, or excavators in production or civil construction settings.
- Experience supporting sewer, water, storm,



drainage, roadworks, or earthworks projects is strongly preferred
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence required; Class 3 or Class 1 considered an asset.
- Civil construction safety certifications including CSTS, WHMIS, Ground Disturbance, First Aid, or similar are considered assets
- Experience working around underground utility installations is considered a strong asset
- Ability to work independently and within a team, adapting to changing priorities and site conditions.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and site conditions
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Basic PPE requirements: worker must supply boots, hi‑vis vest, hard hat, and safety glasses; specialized PPE provided by the company.
- Strong communication skills and ability to take direction.

Physical Demands:

- Frequent standing, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, kneeling, and climbing in and out of heavy equipment.
- Ability to perform physical labour and lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis, and heavier materials with assistance when required.
- Comfortable working around excavations, underground utilities, heavy equipment, truck traffic, and uneven terrain.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions including rain, wind, cold, heat, mud, and dust.
- Ability to support field crews with labour duties as required while maintaining safe work practices.
