Pop-A-Lock Halifax is looking for a new team member eager to learn automotive and light-commercial locksmithing. This cross-functional role involves working on vehicle keys and locks, as well as traditional locksmith tasks such as master keying, servicing commercial door hardware, and installing electronic access systems. No prior locksmith experience is required—what's essential are robust mechanical skills, sharp problem-solving abilities, and a genuine interest in hands-on work. About the Role

This role is ideal for someone eager to start a new career. You’ll work in our shop and at customer sites, gaining hands-on experience in cutting and programming automotive keys, servicing vehicle locks and ignition systems, rekeying commercial/residential doors, and repairing door hardware such as exit bars, closers, hinges, and locks. With the right background, a trainee can also learn to install and maintain automatic door operators and electrified door hardware, such as electric strikes and motorized exit devices.

Requirements

- Valid Nova Scotia driver’s license
- Able to pass a security check
- Reliable transportation to/from work
- Capable of lifting and doing physical tasks both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Formal post-secondary training in automotive, electronics, electrical, mechanical, or a related technical field is preferred
- Previous field service experience in any industry is an asset

Pay: $22.00-$26.00 per hour
