Maintenance Person

JOB OVERVIEW: Perform general maintenance work to ensure hotel maintenance quality standards are achieved and maintained.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

- High school diploma/GED.
- 1 year of maintenance experience.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in the operation and maintenance of buildings preferred.

DUTIES:

- Drywalls repairs and caulking.
- Electrical knowledge.
- General knowledge of plumbing repairing.
- General knowledge about heating units and air conditioners (PTAC units)
- Seasonal outdoor landscaping.
- Responsible for performing preventative maintenance in all guest rooms and hotel.
- Perform regular property inspections of the hotel including common areas, building exterior, and landscape.
- Responsible for vandalism clean up and repair, within skill level.
- Maintain heating and air conditioning systems, boilers, pumps, fan units, control panels, thermostats, cooling towers, etc.
- Maintain working knowledge of environmental safeguards, alarm systems, pool.
- Maintain fire alarms and extinguishers.
- Maintain outside grounds (remove snow, ice, and debris, spray and remove weeds, sweep and clean gutters,



water and maintain sprinkling systems)..
- Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations
- Prepare, paint and decorate interior and exterior surfaces, as required.
- Meeting Room setups

APPLICABLE SKILLS:

- Ability to perform small repairs
- Electrical and plumbing knowledge.
- Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels.
- Must be familiar with cleaning products.
- Solid customer service orientation and skills.
- Interact with management, co-workers, and public.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move a minimum of 25 pounds.
- All other duties as assigned.

****Must be available to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays****

Pay: $19.50-$20.25 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Orangeville, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Experience:

- Facilities Maintenance Occupations: 1 year (preferred)
- maintenance: 1 year (preferred)
