TEMPORARY TEAM LEADER/COMMUNITY RESOURCE WORKER 2 for KHO

About the position:

McMan’s Disability Services Program is seeking to recruit a dedicated Team Leader/Community Resource Worker 2. In this position you will lead a team of staff, as well as provide one on one support to an adult male with developmental disabilities, mental health disorders and complex behaviours to enrich his quality of life in his home and community.

Please note that due to the individuals needs, the successful candidate must be male.

This is a temporary full-time position until March 29, 2027, with possibility of extension.

Hours: Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm; 40 awake hours per week; 20 hours a week in Team Leader position, 20 hours a week in a Community Resource Worker 2 position. The successful candidate must have a flexible schedule; times may vary depending on the program needs.

Location: Edmonton, Alberta.

What you’ll do:

· Connect with and develop helping relationships with individuals with disabilities.

· Acting as a strong advocate for individuals in the community.

· Work effectively as a team with the individual and their support team to help achieve their goals

· Program creation, implementation and evaluation

· Oversee and coordinate all aspects of case management, including support plan developmental and implementation

· Completion of daily documentation.

· Support and participate in recreation and leisure activities.

· Perform administrative and cleaning duties relating to the operation of the home.

· Staff supervision, evaluations and training

· Participate in on-going program development.

What you bring:

· One (1)



year towards completion of a Degree or Diploma in Disabilities Studies or the Human Services field

· Two (2) years’ experience working within the Human Services field with complex behaviours; plus, six (6) months supervisory experience

· Equivalencies may be considered.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills.

· Security Clearance Check; including the Vulnerable Persons Sector Check (from within the last 6 months).

· Emergency First Aid—Level A CPR + AED.

· Valid Class 5 Drivers License, current drivers abstract, reliable vehicle, and auto insurance are required, a 3-year class 5 driving licences is an asset.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills.

· Strong NVCI skills and behaviour interventions is required

· Computer/Word processing skills.

· Ability to implement approved restrictive practices.

· Desire to see individuals succeed.
