Software Developer

Location: Lacombe, Alberta – On-Site

Position: Full-Time, Permanent

The Opportunity

Our client, an established organization within the food manufacturing industry, is seeking a Software Developer to join their team in Lacombe, Alberta.

This is a hands-on development role focused on maintaining and enhancing business-critical applications, developing new solutions, improving system integrations, and supporting the continued modernization of the organization's technology and business systems.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, maintain and enhance internal software applications and business-critical systems.
- Work primarily within the Microsoft/.NET development environment.
- Support and improve existing applications, including established and legacy systems.
- Troubleshoot application issues, identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Work with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into practical software solutions.
- Design and develop integrations between internal applications, databases and third-party platforms.
- Assist with the modernization of existing applications and development practices.
- Participate in future ERP implementation and integration initiatives, including Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or comparable platforms.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes through automation, AI and system integrations.
- Maintain technical documentation and follow sound development, testing and version-control practices.
- Collaborate with external technology partners and internal stakeholders as required.

Experience & Qualifications





- 5+ years of professional software development experience preferred.
- Strong experience developing applications within the Microsoft/.NET environment.
- Proficiency with C# and object-oriented software development.
- Experience working with SQL databases and data-driven applications.
- Experience maintaining, troubleshooting and enhancing existing software applications.
- Comfortable working with established or legacy codebases in addition to developing new functionality.
- Experience with APIs, system integrations and automation is considered an asset.
- Experience with Windows Forms/WinForms, WCF, VB.NET or similar Microsoft technologies is considered an asset.
- Previous exposure to ERP systems, implementations or integrations is considered an asset.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or Dynamics NAV is considered a robust asset.
- Knowledge of AI technologies and their practical application within software or business processes is an asset.
- Experience developing software within a manufacturing, production or operational environment is considered an asset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Pay: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
