We are a growing food manufacturer building a contemporary manufacturing operation in Mississauga, Ontario.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a hands-on Maintenance / Electrical Technician to help maximize equipment reliability and production uptime throughout our manufacturing facility.
The successful candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills and will work closely with Operations to identify problems, complete preventive maintenance, and improve equipment reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment failures
- Diagnose issues involving motors, drives, sensors, switches, conveyors, and industrial equipment
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance
- Complete emergency repairs during production
- Support production startups, shutdowns, and changeovers
- Inspect equipment and identify potential failures before they create downtime
- Troubleshoot pneumatic and mechanical systems
- Support basic PLC and control-system troubleshooting
- Maintain electrical and mechanical documentation
- Ensure spare parts and critical maintenance items are identified
- Support equipment installations and commissioning
- Work with equipment manufacturers and external contractors when required
- Maintain accurate maintenance records
- Follow lockout/tagout and workplace safety procedures
- Ensure repairs meet food manufacturing and sanitation requirements
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime
What We're Looking For
- 3-5+ years' experience troubleshoot industrial packaging and processing equipment
- Millwright License (433A) is required
- Industrial Electrician License (442A) an asset.
- Robust electrical troubleshooting capabilities
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Experience with motors, VFDs, sensors, conveyors, and industrial controls
- Experience with pneumatics and automated manufacturing equipment
- Food manufacturing experience is strongly preferred
- PLC troubleshooting experience is an asset
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working independently when production issues occur
