Safety-Kleen is seeking a skilled and motivated Refinery Operator (3rd Class Power Engineer) to join our team in Breslau, Ontario. As a Refinery Operator, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of refinery processes and equipment. You will monitor and optimize processing systems, perform equipment inspections and adjustments, and help maintain compliance with all company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements

- Operate and monitor computerized control systems from a central control room to optimize the performance of multiple processing units.
- Monitor, control, and adjust refinery and processing operations to ensure the safe and efficient production of petroleum products, including lubricating oils, using processes such as distillation, absorption, extraction, adsorption, thermal cracking, and catalytic cracking.
- Review production schedules, operating logs, laboratory test results, and technical recommendations to identify and implement process adjustments required to meet production, quality, and operational targets.
- Adjust and regulate process variables including flow rates, temperatures, pressures, vacuum levels, catalyst usage,



and chemical inputs through automated control systems and remote operation of equipment such as heaters, furnaces, compressors, heat exchangers, reactors, fractionators, absorbers, strippers, and towers.
- Provide training, guidance, and support to employees as required.
- Actively participate in safety initiatives, audits, and compliance programs, including permit issuance, inspections, hazard assessments, and related documentation.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, operating procedures, and environmental regulations.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

- 3rd Class Stationary Engineer Certificate mandatory;
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve operational issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Thorough understanding of process equipment, including pumps, motors, valves, piping systems, and instrumentation.
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with process control and monitoring systems.
- Emergency response experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment is considered an asset.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making abilities.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
