We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. Duties
- Assist with accounts payable processes by verifying invoices, processing payments, and maintaining vendor records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage
- Support accounts receivable activities including invoicing, payment processing, and aging analysis to ensure timely collections
- Perform account reconciliations for bank statements, general ledger accounts, and other financial records to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Help with bookkeeping tasks by recording daily transactions and maintaining organized financial documentation
- Contribute to payroll processing by verifying hours worked and ensuring correct deductions are applied using payroll systems like PeopleSoft or Sage
- Aid in auditing procedures by preparing documentation and supporting internal or external audit requests
- Assist with budgeting activities by gathering data and preparing reports for management review
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely financial reporting
Experience
- Prior experience or internship in accounting or finance is preferred but not required; a strong willingness to learn is essential
- Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or PeopleSoft is highly desirable
- Basic understanding of corporate finance principles including account analysis and bank reconciliation
- Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and account reconciliation techniques
- Exposure to auditing procedures and financial services operations is a plus
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
