Cowan's Office & Art Supplies — Nelson, BC Full-time, permanent · Tuesday to Saturday · $21.00/hour

Cowan's is Nelson's local office and art supply store, and we furnish offices, schools and home workspaces across the region. We're looking for a hands-on, physically fit person who is handy with tools and likes helping customers. No furniture experience needed; we'll train you.

What you'll do

- Keep the furniture showroom current: set up new displays, rotate stock, keep pricing and signage accurate.
- Help customers in-store choose desks, seating, storage and ergonomic products.
- Support our outside sales staff with product research, measurements, and quote preparation.
- Help with furniture deliveries, assembly and installation at customer sites.
- Work the front counter as needed, including cash handling and closing on Saturdays.

What we're looking for

- At least 1 year of work experience. Retail, trades, warehouse, moving or delivery work is a plus.
- Handy with a tool kit: drills and drivers, levels, tape measures and basic hand tools.
- Physically fit: able to lift and carry heavy boxes and furniture (up to lb, heavier items with a partner), including up stairs at customer sites.
- Valid BC driver's licence.
- Comfortable on a computer: email, spreadsheets, looking up products and pricing.




- Available Tuesday to Saturday, full-time.

Nice to have

- Furniture assembly, installation or design experience.
- Reading floor plans or doing simple space layouts.
- Experience preparing quotes or working with supplier catalogues.
- Cash handling experience.

The honest part

The job splits between the showroom, the counter and customer sites, so no two days look the same. Installs involve lifting, stairs and tight spaces.

- $21.00/hour to start, full time hours.
