Job Description:
The Automation & PLC Specialist is an integral part of the Simmtech Processing Solutions Engineering Team and reports to the Automation Manager. This role will work closely with Project Managers, Operations, Mechanical Engineering, and other cross-functional departments to design, program, test, and commission automation systems for fluid/liquid processing operations. The Automation & PLC Specialist will be responsible for programming PLCs, developing HMIs, creating documentation, and acting as a technical lead on key projects. This position requires strong technical expertise, leadership ability, and the flexibility to travel to customer sites for system commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:

Automation Programming & System Design Duties:

- Program, configure, and troubleshoot automation and control systems (Allen Bradley, Omron, Siemens).
- Develop, configure, and optimize HMI interfaces.
- Create, read, and interpret logic diagrams, flow diagrams, and electrical schematics for design, programming, simulation, testing, and startup.
- Develop and implement standard engineering practices and procedures.
- Provide detailed project documentation, electrical drawings, and technical reports upon project completion.
- Conduct technical studies, system performance audits, and generate corresponding reports and recommendations.
- Act as Technical Lead on assigned projects and support Project Management functions related to timelines, documentation, and customer communication.
- Test, troubleshoot, and commission automated systems at customer sites as required.

Qualifications and Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar automation/controls engineering role.
- Strong communication, organizational,



and documentation skills.
- Leadership experience with the ability to act as Technical Lead on projects.
- Experience programming Allen Bradley, Omron, and/or Siemens PLCs and HMI systems.
- Proficiency in MS Office and experience with AutoCAD or similar design software.
- Ability to travel to customer locations as required.
