Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time, Hourly

Hours of Work: 7:00AM - 6:00PM, Monday - Friday (split shifts may be required)

Reports To: Assistant Director

Compensation:

- Base Wage: $16.00 - 19.00 per hour
- ECE Wage Top-Up: Level 1 - $2.64

Wage top-ups are not guaranteed and may change in accordance with government funding or operational requirements.

About the Role

The role supports consistent, engaging programming while contributing flexibly across the centre to ensure children's safety, inclusion, care, and continuity throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate programming.
- Collaborate with educators on planning, routines, transitions, and classroom needs.
- Maintain a secure, calm, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
- Provide responsive 1:1 and individualized child support when assigned.
- Support positive child guidance, regulation, participation, and inclusion.
- Maintain active supervision, accurate attendance, and required documentation.




- Safely transport children and complete required vehicle checks, headcounts, and transportation logs.
- Support kitchen operations, including meal preparation, service, cleaning, and food-safety practices.
- Communicate professionally with children, families, educators, and leadership.
- Support daily centre operations and other duties as required.

Qualifications

- Certificate or Diploma in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
- Alberta ECE Level 1 Certification
- Valid Alberta Class 4 Driver's Licence or Class 5 non-GDL Driver's Licence with willingness to obtain Class 4
- Clean Driver's Abstract
- Valid First Aid & CPR
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
- Child Intervention Record Check

Experience

- Minimum 1–2 years' experience in a licensed early learning, childcare, or Out-of-School Care setting
- Experience planning and implementing developmentally appropriate programming
- Experience working collaboratively as part of an educator team
- Experience supporting children with diverse or individualized needs
- Experience with positive child guidance and responsive support strategies
- Experience safely transporting children considered an asset




- Experience with food preparation, kitchen support, or food-safety practices considered an asset
