Lead exceptional wilderness hospitality in one of British Columbia's most remarkable destinations!

Knight Inlet Lodge is a 100% Indigenous-owned wilderness tourism operation located in Glendale Cove, a spectacular corner of British Columbia’s Great Bear Rainforest. For more than 30 years, the lodge has been recognized internationally for exceptional grizzly bear viewing and immersive wildlife experiences.

Accessible primarily by floatplane from Campbell River, our remote floating lodge combines world-class wildlife viewing with marine adventures, wilderness interpretation, and warm, personalized hospitality.

We are seeking an experienced, commercially minded, and people-focused General Manager to lead our team and oversee the overall operations of Knight Inlet Lodge.

This is a full-time, year-round leadership position where you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional guest experiences, building a strong workplace culture, and ensuring the business operates safely, efficiently, and profitably.

Working closely with the CEO and Director of Strategy & Development, you will lead the day-to-day operations of the business and ensure the organization's operational priorities are effectively implemented. You will lead a multidisciplinary management team responsible for Finance, Marketing & Reservations, Administration, Hospitality, Food & Beverage, Guiding, Maintenance, and Logistics.

The successful candidate will combine strong business acumen with practical operational leadership, balancing financial performance, people, guest experience, and the unique challenges of operating a remote wilderness lodge.

The primary working location is Knight Inlet Lodge's Head Office in Black Creek, BC, with considerable travel to the lodge in Glendale Cove required, particularly during the first year.

As a General Manager, you will:

· Lead the overall management and day-to-day operations of Knight Inlet Lodge, including lodge-based and head office operations.

· Lead, support,



and develop senior leadership team members and department managers.

· Establish clear accountability, performance expectations, communication, and decision-making structures throughout the organization.

· Build a collaborative workplace culture grounded in professionalism, respect, accountability, and teamwork.

· Oversee seasonal opening and closing procedures and ensure operational readiness across staffing, accommodation, transportation, supplies, equipment, maintenance, and guest requirements.

· Oversee operational planning, staffing, resources, and departmental coordination to ensure the lodge is prepared to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

· Coordinate all operational departments, including Guiding, Hospitality, Culinary, Maintenance, and Logistics.

· Ensure consistent implementation of operational systems, policies, procedures, and standards.

· Lead employee recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, and workforce planning.

· Support managers in addressing employee relations matters and maintaining a healthy, respectful workplace.

· Maintain overall responsibility for guest experience, service standards, and the resolution of significant guest concerns.

· Oversee workplace and guest safety, emergency preparedness, risk management, and regulatory compliance.

· Work with the CEO, Director of Finance, and department managers to develop and manage operating budgets and monitor financial performance.

· Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and profitability without compromising guest experience or safety.

· Provide operational direction to Marketing & Reservations,



ensuring sales commitments align with operational capacity and the lodge's ability to deliver.

· Maintain effective relationships with the CEO, Board of Directors, First Nation partners, tourism partners, suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders.

Ideally, you have:

· Significant senior management experience in hospitality, tourism, resorts, remote lodges, outdoor recreation, or a related field.

· Strong financial and operational management skills, including experience with budgeting, cost control, and business performance.

· Demonstrated experience leading and managing multidisciplinary teams.

· Strong leadership, communication, conflict-resolution, and decision-making skills.

· Experience with human resources, employee relations, and performance management.

· Experience with workplace safety, risk management, and regulatory compliance.

· Excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.

· The ability to make sound decisions in complex and rapidly changing circumstances.

· Experience working in remote environments is considered a significant asset.

· Outdoor leadership or marine experience and certifications are considered an asset.

· A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Management, Tourism, or a related field is considered an asset.
