About THS Industries

THS Industries is a nail manufacturing company located in Kitchener, Ontario. The company manufactures nails and related fastening products using specialized nail-making, nail-threading and assembly equipment.

We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineering Technician to support the installation, commissioning, modification, maintenance and repair of specialized nail manufacturing machinery and production equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Install, inspect, test and commission nail-making and related manufacturing equipment

* Maintain, repair, modify and troubleshoot plastic-strip, paper-strip and staple nail machinery.

* Diagnose mechanical failures and perform corrective and preventive maintenance.

* Overhaul machinery and rebuild, modify or fabricate mechanical parts as required.

* Perform equipment adjustments, changeovers and production-line setups.

* Inspect machinery to identify wear, defects and mechanical irregularities.

* Work with equipment suppliers during installation, commissioning and technical servicing.

* Provide technical support and training to production and maintenance employees.

* Maintain equipment service and maintenance records.

* Perform other related duties as assigned.

Employment Requirements





* Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in industrial machinery installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair.

* Hands-on experience with nail-making machinery or similar automated manufacturing equipment.

* Experience in mechanical troubleshooting, preventive maintenance and equipment modification.

* Ability to rebuild, modify or fabricate mechanical machine parts.

* Ability to read mechanical drawings, equipment manuals and technical specifications.

* Robust practical mechanical and problem-solving skills.

* Ability to work independently and provide technical training to other employees.

* Ability to lift at least 50lbs.

* Education: Completion of Grade 12

Pay: $30.00 per hour
