The Position

Are you tired of doing the same electrical work day in and day out? Do you enjoy variety? As a qualified JM Electrician Or Master Electrician with Signature Site Services, you will enjoy the various commercial projects we get to work on. The work is commercial service for national retail and restaurant brands. You'll troubleshoot faults and handle lighting retrofits and repairs at stores, plazas, restaurants and commercial buildings across the Edmonton area.

If you'd rather diagnose five different problems in a week and be trusted to run your own calls than pull wire on the same jobsite for eight months, this is that job.

About You

To be considered for this role, you should have the following:

- 2+ years of commercial service and troubleshooting experience, not construction only. You can walk into an unfamiliar building and find the fault.
- Flexibility to travel for projects when required.
- Willingness to adapt to a variety of work scopes including service, installation and troubleshooting in commercial retail settings
- Preference given to those with commercial sign industry or comparable service and troubleshooting experience
- A valid driver license in good standing
- A focus on safety and quality




- No issues with moderate heights
- Experience with bucket trucks is considered an asset
- Highly driven and focused on doing the right thing for customers

What you'll actually be doing

- Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults on commercial service calls: lighting circuits, panels, controls, exterior and parking-lot lighting, sign circuits
- LED retrofits and lighting upgrades; lamp, ballast and driver replacements
- Troubleshooting from the panel out: reading drawings, isolating the fault and getting the customer running the same day
- Working safely from a bucket truck, scissor lift and ladders (up to approximately 45ft)
- Documenting your findings and giving the customer a clear recommendation on site
- Occasional overnight travel within Alberta roughly 2-5 nights a month. Travel, accommodation and meals are covered, plus per diem. Additional out of town project trips are also available.
