We’re seeking Physiotherapist Is and IIs to join our dedicated team in northern Alberta, with opportunities available in Grande Prairie, Grande Cache, Spirit River, and Valleyview.

In addition to excellent wages and benefits, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay. Physiotherapist I

As the Physiotherapist I (PT), you will provide therapeutic interventions to enable clients to achieve optimum physical function and independence in development, disease, disability, chronic conditions, illness, and functional decline.

You will provide intervention (i.e. prevention, triage, screening, assessment, diagnosis, goal setting, treatment, management, education, consultation, fostering resourcefulness, case management, referral, and transition support) to individuals, groups, populations, and communities. You will include clients and families as integral members of the health care team, encouraging their active participation in all aspects of care. The PT collaborates with patient(s)



and families in determining, implementing, and evaluating appropriate rehabilitation strategies.

You will participate in a variety of interprofessional teams to build awareness, enrich supports, and engage in quality improvement; partnering with healthcare providers, patients, families, and other stakeholders to advance services for their clients. You will contribute to quality improvement and the professional community; participate in peer mentoring; and supervise students. You may provide clinical supervision to Therapy Assistants, Therapy Aides, and Provisional Physiotherapists.

Physiotherapist II

As a Physiotherapist II, you will provide coordination of physiotherapy and other allied health clinical services. You will provide supervision of students and team members as assigned.

You will work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team, providing leadership to other healthcare professionals. You will make day-to-day clinical decisions on patient/family needs regarding assessment, intervention, discharge, and follow-up.

You will make decisions and advise team members on complex clinical cases and provide clinical leadership within the program or service area to ensure safe, productive, and effective client care. You will ensure physiotherapy practice is evidence-based and in alignment with Alberta legislation and regulations, professional standards of practice, code of ethics, and AHS policy and guidelines.





You will coordinate the day-to-day operations of an assigned service area and monitor care delivery, identify service needs, and assist other medical staff with caseload management. You will also complete chart audits and provide follow-up and feedback to staff.

You will participate in program development and operational planning and represent the department on committees or programs. You will make decisions on staffing level requirements, workflow, and caseload priorities in collaboration with managers and other healthcare providers.

AHS is dedicated to supporting our Physiotherapists in their practice area and expanding their skillsets regardless of location. All AHS Physiotherapists have access to a list of experienced clinicians across the province and are able to tap into this resource via email, phone, and virtual meetings. As we transition to our Provincial Electronic Medical Record (Connect Care), you will also be able to share patient information in real time with these senior clinicians to assist you in providing high-quality care.

Qualifications:

Master's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program or bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program and related experience. Active or eligible registration and practice permit with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.
