Role Summary

At JW Marriott The Rosseau Muskoka, our hosts are more than greeters; they are ambassadors of our commitment to exceptional hospitality. As the first and last point of contact for our guests, the Host is responsible for creating memorable arrival and departure experiences while managing dining room flow, seating arrangements, and guest satisfaction. In alignment with Marriott's Luxury Quality Assurance (LQA) standards, the Host delivers warm, personalized service and anticipates guest needs to create exceptional dining experiences.

Accountabilities

- Welcome guests with a genuine, professional, and engaging demeanor, creating a positive first impression that reflects JW Marriott service standards
- Receive and acknowledge guests promptly, determine party size, and manage seating arrangements efficiently
- Escort guests to tables, presenting menus and ensuring tables are fully prepared according to restaurant standards
- Engage with guests in a warm and personalized manner, anticipating needs and responding to requests with a sense of urgency
- Guide guests throughout the dining venues and provide assistance to enhance their dining experience
- Monitor dining room activity to optimize seating, service flow, guest comfort, safety, and overall satisfaction
- Coordinate seating arrangements for groups, special occasions, VIP guests, and guests with accessibility requirements
- Ensure place settings are complete and maintained with clean silverware, napkins, glassware, and other required dining elements
- Inspect menus regularly to ensure they are current, clean, well-presented, and in excellent condition
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of host stands, waiting areas,



and dining rooms using clean-as-you-go practices
- Work collaboratively with servers, bartenders, culinary associates, and leadership to ensure seamless service delivery
- Assist service staff by clearing and resetting tables, refreshing beverages, and delivering food when required
- Address guest concerns professionally and escalate issues appropriately to ensure timely resolution and guest satisfaction
- Uphold all Marriott brand standards, Luxury Quality Assurance (LQA) expectations, and health and safety regulations
- Complete other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

- Previous experience in a restaurant, resort, hotel, or food and beverage environment is considered an asset
- Passion for delivering exceptional guest service and creating memorable experiences
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor consistent with luxury hospitality standards
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Basic computer skills required; experience with restaurant reservation and point-of-sale systems is an asset
- Must demonstrate a positive attitude, flexibility, and a strong commitment to guest satisfaction

Working Conditions





- Must be available to work flexible schedules, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Required to move, lift, carry, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance
- Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or for the duration of a shift
- Frequent bending, twisting, reaching overhead and below the knees, and pulling activities required
- Work environment may include sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces
- Fast-paced hospitality environment requiring continuous interaction with guests and team members
