Balram Bali Indian Cuisine is looking for a hardworking, reliable, and friendly team member to join our restaurant.

The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience operating a tandoor and making all types of Indian breads. This is a key requirement for the role. The candidate should also have experience cooking Indian food and be comfortable working at the front counter, taking customer orders and providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

- Operate the tandoor safely and efficiently, including lighting, managing heat, and maintaining it throughout service.
- Prepare and cook all types of Indian breads, including naan, garlic naan, butter naan, tandoori roti, kulcha, stuffed naan, lachha paratha, and other breads on our menu.
- Prepare and cook Indian dishes according to restaurant recipes.
- Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards in the kitchen.
- Take customer orders in person and over the phone.
- Operate the POS system and process payments.
- Pack takeout and delivery orders accurately.
- Keep the front counter area clean.
- Work as part of a team during busy hours.
- Assist with food preparation and other restaurant duties as needed.

Requirements

- Tandoor experience is essential.



Candidates must know how to operate a tandoor and make all types of Indian breads. Applicants without tandoor experience will not be considered.
- 1–2 years of experience working in an Indian restaurant kitchen is required.
- Friendly and professional attitude with customers.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high heat near the tandoor.
- Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends.
- Food Safe Certificate is an asset but not required.
