Who We Are:

High-Crest Springhill is seeking compassionate, dependable, and resident-focused Continuing Care Assistants (CCAs) to join our care team.

The CCA provides person-centred care and support to residents, helping them maintain their dignity, independence, comfort, and quality of life. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with nurses and other members of the healthcare team to meet the physical, emotional, social, and personal care needs of residents.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and oral care.
- Assist residents with mobility, transfers, positioning, and use of mobility aids.
- Support residents with meals, hydration, and nutritional needs.
- Observe residents and report changes in condition, behaviour, or care needs to the appropriate nursing staff.
- Assist with maintaining a safe, clean, comfortable, and respectful resident environment.
- Provide companionship and encourage residents to participate in recreational and social activities.
- Follow individualized care plans and established policies and procedures.
- Maintain resident privacy, dignity, confidentiality, and independence.
- Assist with documentation and communication of resident care information as required.
- Work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary care team.
- Follow infection prevention and control practices and workplace health and safety procedures.




- Perform other duties related to resident care as assigned.

Qualifications

- Current Continuing Care Assistant (CCA) certification recognized in Nova Scotia.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification, as required.
- Previous experience working with seniors or in a long-term care setting is an asset.
- Knowledge of person-centred care and the needs of older adults.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work respectfully with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, compassion, and respect for residents.
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.
