Position Overview
AltaPro Electric is currently seeking an experienced Commercial Electrical Project Manager to join our growing team.

The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing multiple commercial electrical projects from start-up through completion, including project planning, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, labour forecasting, document control, stakeholder communication, and financial performance.

The successful candidate will have strong commercial electrical experience, excellent organizational and leadership skills, and the ability to work closely with Foremen, Project Coordinators, clients, general contractors, consultants, suppliers, and internal departments to deliver successful projects safely, efficiently, and profitably.

Compensation & Benefits
The base wage for this position is $54.30–$59.13/hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

When AltaPro's additional compensation is factored in, including vacation and statutory holiday pay, employer-paid family health benefits, and pension contributions, the effective total compensation value is approximately $62.50–$68.33/hour.

Responsibilities

- Manage multiple commercial electrical projects from project start-up through completion and closeout.
- Review and interpret contracts, specifications, blueprints, construction drawings, and engineered plans.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, labour forecasts, procurement plans, and material requirements.
- Monitor project financial performance, budgets, labour hours, material costs, change orders, and overall profitability.
- Work closely with Foremen and field leadership to review project progress, labour performance, scheduling, and upcoming requirements.
- Coordinate purchasing, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and other project resources.
- Maintain accurate and organized project files, documentation, correspondence, and reporting.
- Manage project communications with general contractors, consultants, clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Identify project risks, delays, cost impacts, and scope changes and develop appropriate solutions.
- Prepare, review, and manage change orders, RFIs, progress claims, and other project documentation.
- Develop and maintain solid relationships with clients, suppliers, consultants, and project partners.
- Support project teams in resolving technical, scheduling, material, and operational challenges.
- Ensure projects are completed in accordance with AltaPro's safety, quality, financial, and operational expectations.
- Participate in project start-up, progress, coordination, and closeout meetings.
- Support and mentor Project Coordinators, Foremen, and developing Project Managers as required.

Qualifications

- Red Seal Journeyperson Electrician certification is strongly preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Journeyperson Electrician preferred.




- Minimum 3 years of commercial electrical project management experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of commercial electrical construction methods, materials, equipment, and project sequencing.
- Strong working knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and applicable construction standards.
- Experience managing project budgets, labour forecasting, schedules, procurement, change orders, and project documentation.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Experience with Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) is considered a strong asset.
- Healthcare electrical construction experience is considered an asset.
- Renewable energy and commercial Solar PV experience is considered an asset.

Software Experience

Experience with the following is considered an asset:

- Bluebeam
- Microsoft Teams
- Microsoft Office 365
- Excel
- Construction project management and estimating software
