Sheet Metal Worker / Shop Hand

Our client is looking for a Shop Hand to join their busy sheet metal operation in the Edmonton area. This organization specializes in the fabrication and installation of ventilation systems for a wide range of commercial projects, including schools, restaurants, retail spaces, and community facilities.

This role is ideal for a registered Sheet Metal Apprentice (2nd–4th year) or a licensed Journeyperson seeking hands-on experience in a fast-paced shop environment. You will be involved in various aspects of duct fabrication and metalwork, contributing to high-quality production and project support.

Responsibilities

- Fabricate HVAC ductwork and related components
- Perform welding tasks as required
- Operate shop equipment such as power shears, brakes, turning machines, and edgers
- Assist with assembly of ventilation and exhaust systems
- Follow safety procedures and production guidelines

Qualifications





- Registered 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year Sheet Metal Apprentice or licensed Journeyperson
- Working knowledge of HVAC duct design and fabrication
- Experience operating sheet metal equipment (shears, brakes, seamers, etc.)
- Proficiency in assembling and welding duct systems, including kitchen exhaust
- First Aid and forklift certification considered an asset
