This role will be responsible for developing recent business, growing fuel volumes, and providing customers with competitive and reliable fueling solutions.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated salesperson who understands how transportation companies purchase fuel and can identify opportunities to help fleets manage their fueling needs and costs.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and grow BVD's commercial fuel business throughout Western Canada.
- Prospect and acquire new customers within the trucking, transportation, logistics, and commercial fleet sectors.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with fleet owners, company principals, fleet managers, transportation managers, and other key decision-makers.
- Promote BVD's fuel card and commercial fueling solutions to prospective customers.
- Understand customers' routes, fleet sizes, fuel requirements, and purchasing patterns to recommend appropriate fueling solutions.
- Identify opportunities to increase fuel volumes and expand relationships with existing customers.
- Conduct outbound prospecting, cold calling, networking, referrals, and in-person customer meetings.
- Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline and consistently pursue new business opportunities.
- Prepare proposals, pricing, and customer solutions in accordance with company guidelines.

- Negotiate pricing and commercial terms while maintaining company profitability.
- Monitor competitor offerings, fuel pricing, market conditions, and industry trends.
- Work closely with credit, operations, customer service, and management teams to ensure successful customer onboarding and ongoing account support.
- Maintain accurate records of customer activity, opportunities, pricing, and sales forecasts.
- Attend transportation and industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to develop new relationships and business.
- Travel throughout Western Canada as required.

Qualifications & Experience

- 5+ years of B2B sales experience, preferably in fuel, petroleum, trucking, transportation, fleet services, or a related industry.
- Strong knowledge of the Canadian trucking and transportation industry.
- Established relationships within the Western Canadian trucking and transportation market are a strong asset.
- Experience selling fuel cards, commercial fuel, fleet services, transportation services, or related products is preferred.
- Proven ability to prospect, develop new accounts, and consistently generate sales.
- Strong understanding of fleet operations and the factors that influence commercial fuel purchasing decisions.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

- Strong business development and account management abilities.
- Self-motivated and comfortable managing a territory independently.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout Western Canada.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who knows the trucking industry and knows how to sell.

The ideal candidate will have an established network of transportation and fleet contacts and be comfortable speaking directly with business owners and senior decision-makers. You should understand the day-to-day realities of running a trucking operation and be able to identify how competitive fuel pricing, fueling locations, payment solutions, and account service can provide value to a fleet.

You are:

- Results-driven and motivated by new business development.
- Well-connected within the trucking and transportation industry.
- Confident and personable, with strong relationship-building skills.
- A strong negotiator who understands the importance of pricing and margins.
- Proactive and self-directed, with the ability to manage a territory and sales pipeline.
- Commercially minded, with a focus on both acquiring and retaining customers.
