About the Company
We are a growing food manufacturer building a high-performing production team at our manufacturing facility in Mississauga, Ontario.
The Prospect
We are looking for an Oven Operator - Start, responsible for managing the beginning of the baking process and ensuring product enters the oven consistently and according to established operating specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete pre-operational checks before startup
- Prepare the oven infeed area for production
- Verify required oven settings against the production specification
- Monitor product entering the baking process
- Ensure product spacing and flow remain consistent
- Monitor line speed, temperatures, and other operating parameters
- Coordinate closely with the Extruder Operator and Oven Discharge Operator
- Identify product defects before they continue through the baking process
- Respond quickly to line jams or production interruptions
- Assist with controlled startup and shutdown of the oven
- Record required operating and production information
- Communicate equipment issues to Maintenance and the Shift Leader
- Follow all safety procedures associated with high-temperature equipment
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
What We're Looking For
- Previous industrial oven or food manufacturing experience is preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to monitor multiple operating conditions simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail
- Comfortable working around industrial baking equipment
- Ability to troubleshoot production issues
- Strong communication skills
