Meal Prep Ottawa is looking for a reliable and experienced full-time Cook to join our production team at our Jamie Avenue location.

We are a high-volume meal preparation company producing fresh meals for individual customers, meal plans, corporate clients, catering, and retail. This is a production kitchen environment, so we are looking for someone who is comfortable preparing food in volume while maintaining consistency, quality, cleanliness, and food safety standards.

This is not a traditional restaurant line-cook position. Our kitchen works from organized production schedules, recipes, prep lists, and portion standards to produce large quantities of meals efficiently and consistently.

What you'll be doing:

- Preparing and cooking proteins, vegetables, starches, sauces, and other menu items
- Following recipes and established preparation procedures
- Cooking food in large batches for weekly meal production
- Preparing ingredients, including washing, cutting, portioning, seasoning, and marinating
- Maintaining consistency in taste, appearance, portioning, and quality
- Working from daily production and prep lists
- Using commercial kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Assisting with receiving, organizing, and rotating ingredients
- Maintaining a clean and organized workstation
- Following proper food handling, sanitation, and food safety procedures
- Completing cleaning and kitchen closing duties
- Communicating with chefs and other production team members to ensure production stays on schedule
- Helping in other areas of the kitchen when required

What we're looking for:

- Previous professional kitchen or cooking experience
- Comfortable working in a high-volume production workplace
- Strong knife skills and basic cooking knowledge
- Ability to follow recipes accurately
- Good attention to detail and consistency
- Ability to work efficiently while maintaining food quality
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable




- Able to work well as part of a team
- Comfortable standing for extended periods and performing physical kitchen work
- Able to lift and carry food products, containers, and kitchen supplies as required
- Understanding of proper food handling and sanitation practices
- Food Handler Certification is required
- Experience in catering, meal prep, banquet, commissary, or production kitchens is an asset

Meal Prep Ottawa is a locally owned prepared meal company serving customers throughout Ottawa.

Our Jamie Avenue facility is the centre of our food production operation. We prepare a large variety of meals every week, including traditional meals, health-focused meal plans, corporate meals, catering, and specialty dietary options.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work and understands that consistency is extremely important. When we prepare hundreds of portions of the same item, the first portion and the last portion need to meet the same standard.

Position Details:

- Full-time position
- Approximately 35–40 hours per week
- In-person at our Jamie Avenue location in Ottawa
- Daytime shifts
- Weekend availability is required
- Compensation based on experience
