MCL Group Ltd. is looking for a Heavy Duty Field Mechanic (Red Seal) who must have experience with heavy duty equipment such as dozers, excavators, packers, rock trucks, scrapers, etc. If you are a 3rd year apprentice and meet the qualifications, please feel free to apply!

Responsibilities of Heavy Duty Field Mechanic

- Diagnose and repair heavy equipment (dozers, scrapers, excavators, rock trucks, skid steers, graders, etc.)
- Working with the Foremen and operators to diagnose equipment issues.
- Maintain detailed records and organization plans.
- Ensure repairs are carried out according to manufacturer’s procedures and in protected and responsible manner within a designated time-frame.
- Assisting with pick up trucks as required.
- Various related duties as required.
- Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely and to accepted standards.
- Runs a brand new mechanics' work truck.

Qualifications:

- Must have 3-5 years of experience with heavy duty equipment, water trucks, fuel and lube trucks and pick up trucks.
- Red Seal Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic ticket is an asset to this position
- Experienced with highway and off highway an asset
- Experience with air conditioning, welding, transmission/engine repair/re-builds, airbrakes.




- Experience with Cat and Komatsu Equipment.
- High degree of product and technical knowledge with strong diagnostics capabilities.
- Good communication skills; both written and verbal.
- CVIP experience is an asset.
- Must have previously demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Dedication to safety.
- You must have your own tools.

Work Conditions

- Safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses, etc.
- Overtime as required.
- Hazards associated with the trade; work outdoors.
- May be exposed to high levels of noise.

Pay: $48.00-$55.00 per hour

- air conditioning: 1 year (required)
- repairing Komatsu equipment: 2 years (required)
- repairing CAT equipment: 2 years (required)
- transmission repairs/rebuilds: 2 years (required)
- welding: 1 year (required)
- heavy duty mechanic: 3 years (required)
- repairing rock trucks: 3 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Journeyman HET Ticket (required)
- class 5 drivers license (required)
- Apprentice HET - 3rd Year (required)

Willingness to travel:

- 100% (required)
