Barista & Café All-Rounder

About the Role

Sula Cafe is looking for a barista & café all-rounder who is energetic, reliable, hardworking, and passionate about coffee and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare high-quality espresso-based coffee, lattes, cappuccinos, americanos, iced coffee, matcha, chai, and other café beverages.
- Have a strong understanding of coffee preparation, espresso extraction, milk steaming, drink presentation, and café equipment.
- Prepare and serve beverages and food while maintaining consistent quality and presentation.
- Have knowledge and appreciation of Indian flavors, spices, chai, and Indian-inspired food and beverages.
- Provide friendly and professional customer service and accurately take customer orders.
- Operate the POS system and handle payments accurately.
- Assist with food preparation, plating, and serving when required.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar, kitchen, dining area, and equipment.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, temperature control, and cleaning procedures.
- Restock ingredients, beverages, cups, and other café supplies as needed.
- Assist with opening and closing duties and ensure all café procedures are followed.
- Be able to multitask and prioritize responsibilities during busy periods.
- Work closely with other team members and support coworkers when needed.




- Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to a team-oriented work environment.

Requirements

- Strong coffee/barista knowledge is mandatory.
- Previous barista or café experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of Indian cuisine, flavors, spices, and chai is an asset.
- Fluent English is mandatory for effective customer and team communication.
- Solid customer service and communication skills.
- Must be a multitasker and strong team player.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to learn Sula Cafe's recipes, standards, and procedures.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Candidates with a valid open work permit are welcome to apply.

- Candidates should be currently located in Vancouver or Burnaby, BC.

Availability

Must be available:
Tuesday, Wednesday, Sunday

Candidates should be able to commit to a consistent schedule on these days.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is hands-on, energetic, and a strong team player. The ideal candidate should be comfortable moving between barista duties, food preparation, customer service, cleaning, stocking, and other café responsibilities throughout the shift.

Pay: $18.25 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 24.0 per week
