Position Summary:
The IABE Pathways Project Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the design and implementation of Indigenous Adult Basic Education (IABE) pathways to NEC’s post-secondary programs. The position guides learners through customized pathways grounded in cultural healing, confidence-building, and reclamation of Indigenous identity. This includes coordinating with faculty, supporting students with Individual Education Plans (IEPs), and ensuring the project’s alignment with NEC’s Longhouse values and strategic goals.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in education, Indigenous Studies, or related field (master’s preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in Indigenous student services, community outreach, or academic project coordination
- Demonstrated experience working with Indigenous learners and communities
- Experience in developing educational or career pathways
- Knowledge of Indigenous knowledge systems, educational barriers, and student supports
- Robust interpersonal and communication skills, including cultural humility and trauma-informed care
- Ability to manage timelines, meet deliverables, and produce reports




- Experience with program marketing, student recruitment, and relationship-building
- Comfort with advising and mentoring students from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team

Appointment to this full-time position will require a formal criminal record check, the details of which may preclude finalizing an offer of employment. Preference will be given to qualified Indigenous applicants.

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm- 35 hrs./week.
