Job Summary

Little Got Talent Daycare is seeking an experienced, confident, and passionate Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) to serve as Toddler Program Director / Team Lead.

This is a leadership position for an educator who has strong experience working in a licensed child care environment and is ready to take responsibility for the daily operation, programming, organization, and leadership of our Toddler Program.

The successful candidate will work directly with the children while also providing leadership, guidance, and support to the Toddler educators. The Toddler Program Director will help ensure that the classroom maintains a nurturing, organized, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate environment while meeting LGT's standards and all applicable licensing and regulatory requirements.

We are looking for someone who demonstrates professionalism, maturity, initiative, accountability, strong communication skills, and the ability to lead a team positively and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide day-to-day leadership and direction to the Toddler Program and Toddler educators.
- Plan, implement, and oversee developmentally appropriate programming that supports children's social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development.
- Mentor and support educators in maintaining consistent classroom routines, expectations, documentation, and high-quality programming.
- Help organize staff responsibilities, classroom routines, transitions, breaks, and daily duties to support an effective and collaborative team.
- Maintain a safe, welcoming, inclusive, engaging, and well-organized toddler environment.
- Observe children's development and ensure appropriate documentation, programming plans, observations, and developmental records are maintained.
- Identify children's individual strengths, interests, developmental needs, and areas requiring additional support.
- Support children with diverse abilities and needs and collaborate with families, management, and outside professionals when appropriate.
- Establish positive and professional relationships with parents and guardians and communicate effectively regarding children's development, routines, achievements, and concerns.
- Provide leadership in addressing classroom challenges, children's behaviours,



transitions, and other day-to-day issues.
- Ensure educators follow LGT policies, procedures, health and safety practices, and classroom expectations.
- Assist management with staff training, mentoring, performance feedback, and maintaining a positive and professional workplace culture.
- Ensure compliance with applicable requirements under Ontario's Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014 (CCEYA) and licensing requirements.
- Support Ministry of Education licensing inspections and ensure required classroom documentation and records are organized and current.
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professional judgment when handling information concerning children, families, and staff.
- Communicate promptly with the Centre Director regarding incidents, staffing concerns, parent concerns, health and safety matters, or other significant issues.
- Participate in staff meetings, career development, and continuous quality-improvement initiatives.
- Perform other duties reasonably associated with the leadership and operation of the Toddler Program.

Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate should have:

- Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) designation in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators of Ontario.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience working in a licensed child care setting, preferably with significant toddler-program experience.
- Previous experience as a Room Lead, Team Lead, Supervisor, Program Lead, or in another leadership capacity is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices for toddlers.
- Strong understanding of Ontario child care licensing requirements and professional standards.
- Experience developing and implementing high-quality emergent and play-based programming.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, motivate,



and support an early childhood education team.
- Strong classroom-management, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate professionally and respectfully with families, educators, management, and external professionals.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while remaining calm, professional, and child-focused.
- Experience supporting children with diverse abilities or additional needs is an asset.
- Proficiency in English; French or another language is an asset.
- Basic computer skills for documentation, communication, programming, and record keeping.

Schedule

Full-time position. Hours and schedule will be determined based on the operational needs of the Centre.
