You N Me' Café is BC's first Humanity Café, created to help fight loneliness in our community. So many people today feel isolated, unseen or alone, even in a busy city. Our café exists to change that: a place where anyone can walk in, feel welcomed, be greeted by name, and leave feeling a little more connected than when they arrived.
We're more than coffee. We're a space for kindness, conversation and human connection. We're a small, growing café, and we're looking for 2 full-time team members who believe in that mission and want to be part of something meaningful.
This is an all-rounder role. In a small café, everyone does a bit of everything:
- Barista work: espresso drinks, lattes, chai, tea, bubble tea and smoothies
- Customer service: greeting, taking orders on the POS, and making every guest feel at home
- Human connection: noticing when someone comes in alone or seems to be having a hard day, and taking a moment to make them feel seen
- Food prep: light food, restocking and prepping ingredients
- Cleaning and dishwashing: keeping the café spotless, front to back
- Inventory: tracking stock and helping with orders
- Content creation: helping with photos, videos and social media
- Sharing ideas: we want to hear how we can do better
We're looking for someone who:
- Has barista experience (strongly preferred)
- Truly cares about people and understands how much a kind word or a real conversation can mean to someone who feels alone
- Is a rapid learner who picks things up quickly and needs little hand-holding
- Works quickly and efficiently, especially during busy rushes
- Is proactive: sees what needs doing and just does it, without waiting to be asked
- Can take ownership of tasks and run parts of the café independently
- Is warm, reliable and always on time
- Stays calm and friendly under pressure
- Wants to grow with a small business and take on more responsibility over time
Shifts (café open 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM daily). Pick what suits you:
- Option A:
7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, 5 days a week
- Option B: 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM, 5 days a week
- Option C: 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, 4 days a week
- Option D: 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, 4 days a week
What we offer:
- Full-time hours (35 to 40 per week)
- $18.25 per hour to start
- 6-month retention bonus: stay with us for 6 months and receive a bonus as a thank-you

Requirements (WorkBC Wage Subsidy position)
This position is supported through the WorkBC Wage Subsidy program. To be considered, you must:
- Be eligible for WorkBC Employment Services (WorkBC will confirm your eligibility)
- Be currently unemployed
- Be registered with WorkBC, or willing to register before your start date
- Be available for full-time hours year-round and not currently enrolled in full-time studies
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada
