Position Summary:

Die Technicians are responsible for repairing and maintaining injection molds, press dies, equipment, and tools. A key position with a direct impact on product quality and machine reliability. A flexible approach and strong interpersonal skills are required for clear communication with internal and external parties. The ability to work efficiently under pressure during troubleshooting and commissioning is essential, along with the skills to support and complete Kaizen activities within their areas of expertise.

Duties:

- Repairs and maintains Injection molds, hot runner systems, press dies and machinery
- Knowledge of mechanical structure and operation of molds and dies with the ability to disassemble / assemble for repairs / PM’s
- Understanding of blueprint / CAD of tools, drawings and schematics.
- Repairs or replaces defective parts, cleans, lubricates and inspects mold / components as part of tool PM or repair procedure
- Verify dimensions, clearances and alignment of parts in the tools
- Fitting of components including welding and filing when necessary




- Adding mold venting / maintaining vents as required
- Perform Injection Mold changeovers including robot systems
- Connect wiring and hydraulic and pneumatic lines to install electrical and hydraulic components
- Dry Ice surfaces of tooling to maintain product quality / dimensions
- Knowledge and ability to operate machine tools such as lathe, milling M/C, welders, drill press, surface grinder to fabricate or repair parts to the specifications
- Inspect mold, dies and components to determine the causes of wear
- Assist in scheduling tooling PM’s and coordinate with production timing and inventory of affected product
- Procurement of spare parts, assist in maintaining inventory control of spare parts for tooling / molds (Injection and Press Die)
- Support process engineers and technicians in trouble shooting and new projects / tool trials
- Support Maintenance associates when required
- Maintain 5S of the Mold Maintenance area
- Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements:

- Previous experience in a similar role desired. Experience working within a Tier 1 Automotive environment.
- OSSD completion is preferred however, previous experience in mold maker / tool & die maintenance role, or other relevant mechanical experience is required .

Travel

- Eligible for travel within the USA preferred but not a requirement.
